  • The largest country in Africa Algeria spans an area of 2,381,741 sq km. Algeria has a population of 44.6 million and in 2021 a GDP of $164.7 billion.
  • According to CATO’s Freedom Index, Algeria is ranked 154 out of 162 countries ranked in -human freedom measures, with zero rank change from 2017-2018. Furthermore, the Index indicates Algeria has a personal freedom score of 5.42; a category including but not limited to Freedom of assembly, association, freedom of religion, etc. 
  • The Index also reported Algeria having an economic freedom score of 4.97; a category including but not limited to money growth, the legal system of property, size of government, etc.
