 In the Wake of the UPR, what are the Algerian public’s concern?

Advance took a survey of HRD, previous detainees, and civil society. A sample of 100, where 57 completed the survey online or verbally. 43 of which either refused or did not complete the survey.  27 were scared of repair and online tracing, and so completed the survey verbally, by 30 completed the online survey.  The results were in sync with legal analysis and civil society recommendations. The primary concern was for the release of prisoners of conscience, followed by freedom of expression, assembly and association, and concerns for corruption.

In the Wake of the UPR, what is the Algerian public’s biggest concern

When asked “ In the Wake of the UPR, what is the Algerian public’s biggest concern?” there was a clear and overwhelming concern to free the prisoners of conscience.
Following Algeria’s recommendation intake history, suggests that Algeria deciphers through recommendations and is specific about taking on recommendations that fit its needs/wants. Therefore, it is paramount that you make recommendations that empower Algerians’ voices and concerns, and that these recommendations are sustainable. We have given concerns, sample data, and legal analysis. However, it is important that we do not get pulled into the gravity of data, and lose sight of the most important factor, the human factor. These are people with families and lives, and we owe it to them to try and present recommendations that Algeria will support.
